Villa Park
Aston Villa’s historic home, being expanded ahead of the tournament, hosts three group stage matches and a Round of 16 tie in the heart of the Midlands.
Villa Park has been Aston Villa’s home since 1897 and is one of the most storied grounds in English football. It hosted matches at Euro 1996, the first major international tournament on English soil since the 1966 World Cup, and was considered one of the finest stadiums in England at the time.
Ahead of Euro 2028, the North Stand is being redeveloped to take Villa Park’s capacity from around 42,000 to over 50,000, bringing it closer to the scale required for a major international tournament. The stadium’s Trinity Road Stand is a listed building, a striking piece of early 20th-century stadium architecture.
Birmingham is England’s second city and well-connected by rail, making Villa Park a practical base for fans planning to combine it with other host cities – London is 75 minutes by train, and Manchester and Liverpool are both reachable in under two hours.
