Best areas to stay, city by city
Once our hotel-booking maps go live, you’ll be able to compare live pricing and availability right here. For now, this is a general steer on where each city’s best-placed neighbourhoods are.
Before you book
- Book early – accommodation prices typically climb fast once host cities and ticket sales are confirmed.
- Weigh transport over walking distance – a 20-minute train can beat an expensive hotel right by the stadium.
- Following multiple matches? Pick one well-connected base city rather than switching hotels for every game.
- Look for flexible cancellation policies – plans can change a lot in the two years before kickoff.
London
Two stadiums means two good options: Wembley Park or Tottenham Hale if you want to be right by one venue, Stratford if you want solid transport to both.
Cardiff
Wales’ compact capital means the centre covers almost everything – walkable to the stadium, with Cathays a cheaper short bus ride out.
Manchester
Ancoats puts you closest to the Etihad without sacrificing atmosphere, while Deansgate keeps you central with a short tram ride to the ground.
Liverpool
Vauxhall and Sandhills sit closest to the Hill Dickinson Stadium’s riverfront setting, with the city centre a short ride away for nightlife.
Newcastle
St James’ Park sits right in Newcastle’s compact centre, walkable from almost anywhere, with Jesmond a quieter Metro ride out.
Birmingham
Aston sits right by Villa Park itself, though the city centre offers far more choice with a quick rail or Metro link to the ground.
Glasgow
Mount Florida sits right by Hampden Park, while the city centre or leafy West End both offer easy transport links across the city.
Dublin
Ballsbridge sits right next to the Aviva Stadium, while Dublin’s compact city centre keeps you closer to the bars and restaurants.
