Newcastle
One of England’s oldest grounds, sitting right in the city centre, hosts four Euro 2028 matches with one of the loudest atmospheres in the tournament.
Newcastle is one of the most compact and walkable host cities at Euro 2028. St James’ Park has stood above the city centre since 1892, visible for miles across Newcastle and Gateshead, and is known for some of the loudest, most passionate matchday atmospheres in English football.
The city hosts four matches: three group stage games and a Round of 16 tie. What sets Newcastle apart is how little distance there is between the station, the city’s bars and restaurants, and the stadium itself – there is very little dead time on a Newcastle matchday.
Beyond football, Newcastle offers Victorian architecture along Grey Street, a lively nightlife centred on the Bigg Market and the Quayside, and easy access to the Northumberland coast for those extending their trip.
